The Story
Education support programme in the Aila affected Gosaba and Patharpratima block of Sunderban aimed to bring the children who were under severe socio-economic stress and mental trauma due to devastations caused by Aila and who were forced to drop out from their studies, back to school. Joyful learning technique was the medium for bridging the gap that has set in their school curiculum due to their long absence from school. In the process, the programme also aimed at enhancing the basic literacy skill of the children around reading writing and computation.
Hijli INSPIRATION under the guidance of the District Primary School Board council and supported by UNICEF took up the programme. In this endeavour Tagore Society of Rural Development (TSRD) and Southern Health Improvement Society were the Local Partners.
